At Learn the Manual Gearbox our mission is to help young drivers learn how to drive vehicles with manual gearboxes. I’m Noah, and someone who has loved cars and other vehicles from a young age. After getting my license at 16, my truck at the time broke down. While waiting for repairs, I borrowed the spare Volkswagen convertible. Before doing so I had to learn, with my parents teaching me the basics to get started.
However not everyone gets the opportunity that I did when I was in highschool. Hence why I created this blog, to help get the basic information out there. While it is no replacement for real world practice, this blog can help reduce the learning curve. I would eventually go on to purchase this car, and after owning it for a few years. I have been able to improve on my gear shifting skills.
Things like how to downshift smoother, or double clutching. Because my car has a worn synchro on second gear still, and benefits from double clutching. Needless to say just like any skill, you tend to get better at it over time with practice. While there is likely more for me to learn, the information I share is based on 7 years of real world experience. Thank you for reading, and wish you best of luck on your three pedal driving experience.
